Our story

Throughout her career, our founder, Cori Maedel, knew that one day she would run her own business. As her career developed and her experience grew she thought deeply about starting a business that would be an expression of her values and philosophy.

In 2004 she knew it would be offering coaching services (personal/life skills coaching and business coaching), and HR services. In 2006 Cori realized she wanted the business to be an HR-focused organization, and by September 1st, 2007 she rented a space and hired Jouta’s first employee. For Cori it would never truly be her business venture unless she had fully invested her time and money along with her passion.

For two decades prior to starting Jouta, Cori shared her views openly with everyone who would listen. Working with executive teams in the early 90s she honed her passion for sharing information and individual accountability into a systematic approach to people, policy and practice. As Cori’s reputation for steady leadership and creative solutions grew she has been in high demand with organizations looking to improve performance by implementing her philosophy.

Jouta is founded on the authentic belief that a team of dedicated, philosophically-aligned people can make a positive impact on business. At Jouta we run a business, and every member of the team understands that when we visit our clients we look at the “whole” picture.

Our collaborative team approach has made Jouta what it is today. Every team member, whether past or present, leaves an imprint of how we do what we do today.
